Parents of Itthipol and Phanida

Our children transferred from Phratumnuk Suankularb School to Lertlah School Petchkasem Road in 2006. Fia attended K.3 and Fern was in K.2. We could feel the warmth and care that the teachers have for our children as well as other students while teaching them to be morally good. Our first impression of the School was the campus?s high security measure, organized playground area, learning-based classroom facilities, and the appropriate number of students in a classroom. By limiting the number of students to a suitable size, each student receives adequate attention from the teachers, which is different from our previous school where there were 40 to 50 students per class. Lertlah?s classroom atmosphere is suitable for the learning process while also equipped with modern facilities. The campus?s cleanliness and serene beauty enhance healthy minds. All teachers, both Thai and foreign, are qualified and are full of love and care for the students. Our children are happy to go to school. Ever since the first day at Lertlah School, they have never asked not to go to school. The various activities held by the School are designed to develop the students? academic skills and virtue so that they can take responsibility and be self?sufficient. Moreover, the School?s support in music, arts and sports encourages students to demonstrate their self-confidence.  As a father, I am truly glad that my children have the opportunity to study at Lertlah. Although the  campus is neither large nor does it have a full sized field for students, we are content with the kind teachers who do not only teach but love and take great care of our children. They are happy to go to school and study along with their friends.

Parents of Piyawat and Vipada

As an American citizen residing in Thailand for more than 20 years, married to a Thai woman, the education of our two children is one of my highest priorities.  The decision we make on where to send our children to school is one of the most important we can make as parents.  Our decision is sure to have an impact on their future.

Our daughter Anna is now in M2, and started at Lertlah 10 years ago when she was only 2 years old.  Our son Frank is now in P6, and also started school at Lertlah before the age of 3.  We have had much experience with various teachers and administrators over the years, and have come to see clearly what the priorities at Lertlah are.

I am fortunate to have many options in my life.  I can live in the USA if I choose, or any other country that suits me.  I have chosen to spend my life in Thailand for many reasons.  I and my wife want our children to also enjoy this freedom in the future.  If they want to remain in Thailand, or go to another country, it is their choice.  It is clearly our job as parents, our responsibility, to open as many doors, to give our children as many options and opportunities, as we possibly can.

There are numerous international schools in Bangkok, many of which have excellent reputations.  I have no doubt that the education our children would receive at any of these schools would be excellent.  It would concern me, however, that the education on the Thai side, not only in language, but also in cultural and social aspects, is lacking.  This would make it difficult, if not impossible, for our children to live and work in Thailand as adults.  There are many Thais who have very good English language skills ? our children are at a disadvantage in the local workplace if their Thai language skills are not adequate.  Without both languages, and some insight into Thai culture as well, our children are almost forced to leave Thailand.  At Lertlah, our children get not only the English they need, but also the education in Thai language and culture which will enable them to live and work here in Thailand as adults if they so choose.

The academics at Lertlah in all subjects are taught at a high level.  However, this is not the only criteria we used in choosing Lertlah.  Just because a child scores 100% in every subject does not ensure that he/she will become a successful adult.  Who our children become, how their personalities are shaped, is not defined by a list of test scores.  Lertlah classes are small, and there is a close interaction and relationship between students and teachers.  Students at Lertlah are not just a number.  The teachers care not only about what our children know in academic subjects, but more importantly, the teachers at Lertlah care about guiding our children to develop into proud, confident, and responsible adults.  This is what makes Lertlah School unique and special.  We feel very fortunate that our children have benefitted greatly from being part of Lertlah School for so many years.

We decided to let our child attend grade 1 at Lertlah School Kanchanapisek Road due to several reasons. One reason is that the school campus is spacious, and we believe  that our child, Bung, can communicate in English efficiently because the foreign teachers are  native English speakers from Canada. We are not disappointed since Bung, after graduating  from Grade 9 from Lertlah School, was able to pass the entrance examination of Mahidol  University International Demonstration School without the requirement of studying  summer school. This achievement has boosted our confidence that our other child, Hun, who is now in Grade 6, will be able to follow his brother?s footsteps with no difficulties. Moreover, the teachers are always in contact with us to share information regarding our  child?s progress at school and at home, and we feel that our child is safe and secure studying at this campus.

Parents of Thanvin and Gavin

As parents of Gavin and Thanvin, we would like to thank all Thai and international teachers; we are proud to say that we made the right decision in having our children join the International Program (LIPS) at Lertlah School. We really like the school curriculum, and the qualified Canadian teachers with degrees in education ? we feel that our children benefit from learning English with native English speakers, while at the same time, learn to read and write Thai well. We also appreciate the small class size where the teachers are able to take care of all students individually. Our children enjoy coming school, learning about cultures and sports, and everything else that we wish our boys to experience. Lastly, we would like to thank the school Board of Directors and teachers again for this great opportunity.
